VPCIR is based on the joined forces of senior research teams from Aarhus University and Chinese University of Hong Kong who in 2018 founded VPCIR biosciences based on their shared knowledge base and IPR in the field of DNA modifying enzymes and nanoengineering.
Co-founders and co-owners Dr. Birgitta R. Knudsen, Dr. Yi Ping Ho and Dr. Magnus Stougaard are still actively engaged in the company R&D and its management.
The founders soon teamed-up with entrepreneur Jan Mousing bringing in deep management experience in food research and development, food safety and food safety control and regulation on an international basis.
All based on prior positions as CEO of agricultural knowledge and innovation center SEGES; CVO at the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration; CEO of the Danish Veterinary and Food Research Institute and Senior Vice President for R&D at FOSS A/S – a leading supplier of analytical food solutions. Jan also served as a Member of the Management Board of the European Food Safety Authority EFSA from 2010-18.
PhD with more than 20 years of experience in executive management, commercialization and innovation in agri-food and agro-tech. Chief veterinary of leading public and private organisations.
PhD with more than 20 years of experience in university research and commercial R&D in molecular biology specialising in biological functions and DNA modifying enzymes.
PhD with more than 12 years of experience in university research and commercial R&D specialising in deployment and management of new molecular test systems in large scale laboratories.
PhD with more than 11 years of experience in R&D in molecular and cellular biology, project management, communication and commercialization.
PhD with more than 10 years of experience in university research and commercial R&D specialising in nanotechnology and micro-fluidics in medical diagnostics.
Peter holds a MSc and PhD in chemical engineering. He is co-founder and chairman of the management board of VPCIR biosciences. Peter is specialized in strategic R&D leadership on an international level within Food, Feed, Agro, Biotech and Enzyme Tech. He is an experienced member in Boards and Advisory boards of start-ups and small/medium-sized companies.
Claus holds a PhD in Economics and MSc in Agriculture. He is an expert in international Agribusiness and Biotech. Areas of experience include Change Management, Turn-around and Implementation, Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Manufacturing, Automation, Research & Development, Innovation and IP. Management experience in numerous organizations.
Jens holds a Cand.Merc.Jur from CBS and is part of the business angel group investing in VPCIR biosciences.
He provides legal assistance to the board and management of VPCIR biosciences aps as well as general management support based on his extensive experiences with business startup companies and their growth strategies – as well as building export capabilities.
Birgitta is a co-inventor of the VPCIR technology. She has extensive experience in R&D in molecular biology – particularly in biological functions and applications of DNA modifying enzymes. She has been an Associate Professor at Aarhus University since 2002 and has been a supervisor and research leader for several years. Her expertise also includes innovation and interaction with industry.
Magnus is a co-inventor of the VPCIR technology. He has a strong R&D and application expertise in new molecular test systems. He was involved in clinical molecular pathology since 2010, responsible for lab development, research and implementation of new methods.
He has vast experience in R&D projects including development and set-up of new methods for detecting mutations, gene rearrangements or changes in expression patterns.
